Two Days Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Farmers Field School (FFS) Lead Farmers (23-24, Feb, 2020)

Two days’ ToT was conducted by the Skill Up! project to the leader farmers of Kanchanpur district on 23rd & 24th February 2020. A total of 12 female lead farmers from 6 different farmers groups of Krishnapur Municipality participated in the training. Project designed the ToT for the lead farmers on FFS operation methodologies and technologies aiming to capacitate them to facilitate the FFS in the groups. These trained lead farmers were to facilitate Six FFS at their respective groups on production and marketing of vegetables.
FFS Officer and MEAL Officer facilitated the training including theory (using audio-visual) and practical sessions. Besides, a separate session on Health, Hygiene & Nutrition-security was also conducted. IPM methodology & Pest management techniques was important component of FFS methodology. The training was organized at Shree Krishna High School which has been selected as Green College to provide green skill training to the unemployed youths.
The trainees were very much excited in practical session of bio- fertilizer preparation and its application. Most of the locally available raw materials like- cow dung, urine, herbs, mustard cake, rice husk, bran etc. were collected by trainees to prepare bio- fertilizer.
